Lilia Newman is a seasoned Speech & Language Pathologist with a vast experience in assessing and treating early communication disorders. She offers evidence based approaches to design individual treatments and uses unbiased and culturally sensitive assessment procedures. Lilia has a trilingual/tricultural background and provides treatment in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Telepractice is the application of telecommunications technology to the delivery of speech language therapy at a distance by linking clinician to client for assessment, intervention and/or consultation/counseling.
Lilia Newman has been implementing Telepractice since 2018 into her practice. During COVID-19, Telepractice was the only safe way to continue providing services while containing the spread of the virus.
Remote sessions will always be available and the digital resources will continue to get better in the next years. At Communicate Better, we are committed in combining very naturalistic ways of interacting in combination with interesting digital books, games and videos.
We’re so grateful to have Lilia as Pedro’s Speech Therapist, she was thoughtful and caring and easily shifted between different languages to adapt to our son’s needs which was a huge differentiator for our family (we mainly speak Portuguese and Spanish at home). Play Therapy for ASD
Lilia provided language therapy to my son who was recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We were really concerned with his pragmatic skills and not too much with his language. He was always playing by himself and had a hard time to socialize with his peers in school. We asked Lilia to focus on play and very soon he was more social, he had these amazing ideas and started making new friends. His teachers also noticed the progress and now he is even able to play better with his siblings. Thanks Lilia for your dedication with my son.

Quick Fix
We took our 5 year old daughter to see Lilia because when she spoke Portuguese she was switching the "R" for "L". I think we might have had 10 sessions with Lilia to correct the issue. Fun and Focused Speech Therapy
Lilia was warm, loving, and so wonderful guiding my 6 year old daughter through speech therapy. Lilia intently focused on my daughter’s speech needs through fun but focused speech games.
